Story Picture
The Belize Zoo will host their annual Science Fair and Competition next month under the theme, “Learning to protect our natural resources through environmental education”. Primary schools from all over the country will compete for the best science display.

Celso Pott, Educator, Belize Zoo

“This year’s science fair will be the Belize Zoo’s eighth annual science fair. It started in 1991 with seven schools. Schools’ participation have now doubled; we have at least seven hundred and fifty to eight hundred teachers and parents attending the event this year.”

Q: “What about the main attractions at this year’s fair?”

Celso Pott

“Apart from the science display, a limbo dance competition for teachers.”

The first prize for the science competition will be a fully loaded computer for the winning school. Second prize is a four year high school scholarship for a deserving student. The children will also receive a free zoo tour. The science fair and competition is March twelfth.
