City Council candidates nominated tomorrow

The City Council Elections may not be until March third, but the candidates will make an appearance at City Hall for nominations tomorrow. The People’s United Party, which was out of the starting gate early announcing their candidates last month, is fielding David Fonseca for Mayor. Their ten candidates for counselors are: Darrel Carter, Raymond Cox, Danny Madrid, Marshall Nuñez, Gus Pererra, Yasmin Shoman, Eloisa Trujeque, Austin Waight, Lillete Barkley Waite and Merilyn Young. The United Democratic Party announced its slate this month. Candidate for Mayor is Anthony “Boots” Martinez, while those running for counselors are Denise Barrow, Sydney Fuller, Patrick Faber, Brain Hall, Deon Lind, Myrna Manzanares, Albert Robinson, Enrique Silva, Chester Sutherland and Dale Anthony. While the National Alliance for Belizean Rights has promised a slate of candidates of its own, so far the party has yet to announce the names.
