Driver charged in yesterday’s highway death
In a follow-up to yesterday’s accident on the Western Highway, the driver of a dump truck has been charged with the death of a bicycle cart driver. Jason Staine has been charged with manslaughter by negligence, driving without due care and attention, and driving a motor vehicle belonging to a category for which he has no license. Noel Sanchez was hit yesterday around mile seven as he jumped off his cart to avoid the dump truck which was overtaking a van on the right hand side of the road.
