Belizean Musicians at Biltmore on Trade License Bill
And while those artists were in Belmopan, a room full of artists was at the Biltmore in Belize City. But, this wasn’t a consultation on the Trade License Bill. They were there to be introduced as the headlining artists for the Belize International Music and Food Festival. We will tell you more about that event and how it will benefit Belizean artists. Several musicians in attendance offered brief remarks on the Trade License Bill.
Ernestine Carballo, Belizean Musician
“Today is a very special for us. I couldn’t make it to Belmopan but I am sure a lot of artists are going to be there to discuss the whole thing and to weigh the cons and the pros, because everything is communication, overstating, understanding, and trying to bring out some kind of agreement. So, we dah Belizeans and I am sure everybody can come together and formalize something that is rational to everyone across the board, because we have different range of artist. So, it is a whole other conversation.”
Supa G, Belizean Musician
“Just for the record I must mention that of course I think the government needs to revisit that idea of the taxation of course because it is ridiculous. Just for the record, I want to mention that.”
