Two in custody, boat held in connection with murders
The Criminal Investigations Branch has been working round-the-clock trying to solve a number of murders that occurred over the past few weeks. This morning as part of their ongoing investigation into the disappearance of the Garbutt family at sea in December and the execution style murders of fishermen Emil Franklin, Geoffrey Zuniga and Lindon “Bubbles” Raymond, C.I.B. personnel visited the residence of James “Raindrops” Swan and confiscated his thirty-two foot boat “JAKREIJA”. The vessel was taken to B.D.F. Maritime Wing in Ladyville where we understand it was examined by forensic experts this evening. Swan and another man, Charles Leslie, have also been detained for questioning. Police would not comment any further on the detention of the men or why the boat was taken in but stress the men have only been detained, not arrested or charged, with any crime.
