So how does Belize City Mayor Bernard Wagner find his way amid the constant personality clashes within his administration?  Here’s how he responded.

“It’s a tough job, you constantly have to be navigating personalities, egos and own self-interests. As a mayor, and all previous mayors will tell you the same thing, it’s a very stressful job but we signed up for it and so we have to deliver for the people, but you have to be able to build consensus and build trust. That is very important and I live on the value system that we have to trust each other, we have to believe in each other and at the end of the day we have to respect each other. What occurred in the caucus was not a Bernard Wagner decision, it was a collective decision of the councilors there that said we support the motion that was tabled by Councilor Vaughn.”
