Nineteen Year Old Belmopan Shooting Victim Recovering

Nineteen-year-old Henry Osorio is recovering from a gunshot wound he sustained while in a vehicle with two female passengers on the Hummingbird Highway, just outside of Belmopan on Saturday night. By all accounts, Osorio is known to be a straight A student in school, and this may simply be a matter of wrong place, wrong time. A.S.P. Fitzroy Yearwood tells us that police are investigating the shooting.

“He was in a green Altima car with two females. He was seated on the back seat. And, they were turning into constitution Drive off the Hummingbird Highway when they heard a loud bang. He realized that he was shot. The driver of the vehicle immediately transported him to the Western Regional Hospital where he is listed in a critical condition. We haven’t, police or investigators have a challenge because they didn’t see anyone but they heard the bang, and we are praying for his speedy recovery and he could shed some light to us. We don’t know if it is a random shooting because of probably someone that was on the side of the road or in the bushes, so it is a challenging investigation so far.”
