“Well in 1985, the Angelus Press celebrated its one hundredth anniversary and as part of the celebration, they decided to give an educational endowment award to the first born during that year and that child happens to be Marian Jones and the award or the fund should have matured in fourteen years, I guess around the time that she is ready to go to high school. The fourteen years was up this January with Marian completing fourteen years of age and thus the award being done now.”

“I just feel excited in receiving the ten thousand dollars.”

Q: “And what will you do with the check?

Marian Jones

“Put it in a fixed deposit.”

Elizabeth Jones, Mother

“Well for the first time we really believe it because all the time we had it, we thought it was just a little hoax or something. But like Saturday I called Mr. Ernest because he was the first person that found us because we didn’t know, nobody didn’t know about it and then he said go into the Regent Insurance and if you have any problems call me. So I went and he said that they will get in contact and they did. I have four daughters Susan, Marian, Rebecca and Chris and they were excited but you know we were waiting to see if it was real.”

According to Jones the money will indeed go towards its intended purpose: Marian’s educational expenses. Presently Marian Jones is a student of Mount Carmel High School in Benque Viejo del Carmen.
