Audubon holds anniversary walk-a-thon

The Belize Audubon Society is marking its thirtieth anniversary with a walk-a-thon and celebrations at Guanacaste National Park. School groups and other organizations such as the scouts and members of N.G.O.s are invited to participate in the forty-eight mile walk-a-thon which has been divided into three shorter segments. These begin simultaneously at six a.m. The “howler” section is from Belize City to Hattieville, the “jabiru” is from Hattieville to the Belize Zoo and the “jaguar” leaves the Belize Zoo en route to Guanacaste Park. The Audubon Society and other agencies will be assisting the walkers with water and a member of the Red Cross will be on hand for emergencies. For more information on the walk this Saturday contact the Audubon Society.
