Price of Pack Bread Remains Fixed, Despite Increase in Production Cost
In a Cabinet release that was issued earlier today, it was agreed that notwithstanding an increase in the cost of production, the price per sixteen ounce loaf of bread will remain fixed. It may come as a relief to consumers, but bakers are already complaining about the increase in the cost of raw ingredients used to manufacture bread. Prime Minister John Briceño commented briefly on the situation and said that announcement will be made during Friday’s house meeting by Minister of Agriculture Jose Mai.
John Briceño, Prime Minister
“We’ve had extensive discussions. For the third time, we’re trying to find a way how we can minimize the increase in bread. Everybody understands that the price will have to go up and we’re trying to find creative ways of how we can hold down the prices as best as we possibly can and Minister Mai who is it’s his responsibility, he will be making an announcement tomorrow at the house meeting.”
