LOO Criticizes GOB’s Loan from the Bank

But while the Prime Minister and his government feels the loan is a good thing for Belize, Leader of the Opposition, Shyne Barrow said it was just one of several loan motions that the government keeps presenting to the House, following suit from the past government that he criticized for doing the same thing.

“The Prime Minister always ridicules me to say that I’m embarrassing myself. I won’t say that he’s embarrassing himself, but I would be embarrassed to continue coming to the House with loan motion after loan motion after loan motion when you sat in this seat and condemned the Barrow administration – you’re so fascinated with the former Prime Minister because you can’t go a House Meeting without talking him, but you’re following in his footsteps. I wonder if there’s not some type of secret admiration that you have for Prime Minister Barrow, because you condemn borrowing – I have to wonder if you da John Briceño or John Barrow because every House Meeting, as my colleague from Albert so eloquently put it, you have come to this House with Loan motion after loan motion.”
