Uninsured driver hits student
A businessman has been charged in connection with an accident on the Burrell Boom Road which has left a student hospitalized. Police say around eight thirty Saturday night, seventeen year old Wilword Banner of Burrell Boom Village was riding his bicycle from the village to the Northern Highway. Two miles past the bridge, Banner was knocked down from behind by a car driven by Karim Esquivel. Police say Esquivel remained on the scene and assisted Banner in getting to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, however, he failed to report the accident to police. He has been charged with driving without due care and attention, failing to report an accident, negligent grevious harm, driving an unlicensed motor vehicle and driving without insurance. Meanwhile, Banner who received injuries to his foot, is hospitalized in a stable condition.
