A representative from Marie Sharps Fine Foods Limited gave a presentation on how accreditation has propelled the company on the global market. Sales and Marketing Director, Jody Williams shared these valuable insights.

“You might be asking, why certify? Well for one, it is to protect the health of your consumers. Number two, to build consumer and market confidence and trust. So, for companies like Marie Sharp we want to build the confidence and trust of market, so even we might get emails directly straight from the end customer. They are asking about glutton free, if we have any certification in place, what the salt content of our product is. We make sure that we have anything in place to try to provide to that person, or persons who want to no more. Number three of course, more sales, and more profits. Food certificates may cost a lot to implement, end force and get audited. But in the long term it provides more sales and profit, because it gives you a bench mark and a strategic advantage to gain markets outside of Belize.”
