ComPol Says Quick Response Led to Detention of Coote Murder Suspect

Shortly after Coote was shot, Dangriga police sprung into action and detained a man. As we reported, surveillance cameras captured the incident unfold. Today Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams shared with reporters what police have been able to establish so far.

“Police quick response led to the detention of an individual who we believe is the suspect. He was also found to be in possession of a pistol – a nine millimeter – which we believe is the murder weapon. So, officers are now working to put the pieces together where that murder is concerned. Certainly, we expect retaliation and we have mobilized and put additional resources in Dangriga Town with a view to ensure that we do our best to avert such retaliation.”
