Friends arrested in B.T.L. theft
Cashier Harrison Collins may still be out of reach, but police will be charging three of his friends in connection with the theft of over sixty two thousand dollars in cash, checks and tele-cards from the B.T.L. Church Street office. This evening C.I.B. officials confiscated five thousand dollars from the residence of K.B.H. security guard Keith Welch on Neal Pen Road. Welch, his common-law wife Jacqueline Gentle and friend Anthony O’Brien will be charged on Monday with conspiracy to commit theft and handling stolen goods. Police allege that the three helped to hide the money and tele-cards. It is believed at this point that Harrison Collins, who was working as the cashier at B.T.L. when the items disappeared earlier this month, is somewhere in Mexico.
