Prison to get new sporting facilities
In related news, recreation at Hattieville Prison appears to be changing for the better. The seven hundred and fifty eight men and women of the facility will soon get a chance to play basketball and volleyball, if they behave themselves, that is. The inmates, under the supervision of Officer Ray Gongora, recently started construction of new courts and office facilities. There was a basketball court before but it was replaced by a kitchen area. Gongora, who is also a well known basketball star, hopes that by adding these recreational facilities the inmates will appreciate the efforts made by authorities and fellow inmates and will be on their best behavior, because to get on the court you must be well disciplined.

“This will help them so much because a lot of the guys love to exercise. They always wanted to have a court where they could come out and recreate. They looked forward from day to day to exercise and play ball and have fun.
For them to come out of the building any at all they have to be disciplined. They have to be real obedient to the officers, the volunteers who come in and work with them. So why I say this will help them a lot is because they will want to discipline themselves to be able to come out and play ball.”
The basketball and volleyball courts will be completed sometime next week. Building supplies were provided by the Government.
