Football Athlete Allegedly Caught With Contraband
Ian Gaynair is a well-known football player who made a name for himself with the Jaguars, Belize’s National Team. But tonight, he is not making the news for his accomplishment on the football field. Earlier today, police officers allegedly stopped Ian Gaynair in an area between San Antonio and Santa Cruz villages in the Orange Walk District, to conduct a search of the grey Toyota Corolla he was in. Well, that search allegedly yielded a large quantity of contraband beers inside the vehicle. Reports are that officers allegedly found forty-two cases of Mexican Corona beers, six cases of Superior beers and two cases of Barrillito beers, all amounting to over one thousand cans of contraband alcohol. Reports are that Gaynair was escorted to the Customs Department for processing. In an initial Facebook post following these reports Gaynair wrote, “so I can’t have my party again then.” He later made another Facebook comment referring to the allegations as false. The post says “guys I am fine. I am home from morning. I’ll let my lawyers deal with all them false allegations.” We will continue to follow.
