Prices of fuel at the pump keep moving up
A new fuel hike was sneaked on consumers at midnight on Wednesday. Starting with the good news; the government approved price for Regular gasoline is now eight dollars and seventy four cents. However, there is competition for consumer dollars and some of the gas stations are selling below the eight seventy-four. If motorists shop around, they can find Regular gasoline selling at eight dollars and fifty three cents per gallon. The bad news is that the price of all the other fuels went up by at least twenty cents. Premium jumped the nine dollar mark and is now selling for nine dollars and nine cents; a twenty cent hike from eight dollars and eighty-nine cents. The price of Diesel is up twenty-five cents from seven dollars and fifty-six cents to seven-eighty-one. Meanwhile, the price of Kerosene saw an increase of twenty-three cents from five dollars and nine-nine cents. That is now selling for six dollars and twenty-two cents. The latest statistics show that the price of gasoline has increased by nine point two percent, while diesel has gone up by twenty-one point three percent in the period May to August of this year.
