Cayo Men Charged for Possession of Unlicensed Firearm

A trio of men, including Oscar Caretella, Dennis Matus and Rene Zetina, has been arrested and charged for the offense of kept firearm without a gun license and kept ammunition without a gun license. The men were busted on Sunday night by police on mobile patrol on Figaro Street in San Ignacio. They were traveling in a red Geo Prizm without a license plate.  When the vehicle was pulled over, a search was conducted which yielded a nine millimeter Jericho Brand pistol and matching round on the seat of the car. The occupants of the vehicle were asked to produce a license for the firearm, but they were unable to do so.
