The National Bank of Belize Interdistrict Championship
Today at the National Bank of Belize Office in Belmopan, an agreement was signed with the Football Federation of Belize for the rebranding of the National Amateur Inter-district Competition of the federation. The tournament is one of the many programs of the F.F.B. to develop youth football and young talent. The agreement came one week into the competition, which has now been renamed, the National Bank of Belize Inter-district Championship.
Sergio Chuc, President, Football Federation of Belize
“Our marketing department has been in communication with several local national companies, National Bank [of Belize] being one of them. They were the first one to jump on board and say yes we want to be a part of it. I think it was something that was done quite quickly because the tournament actually already started last week when they finalized the deal and that is why we played the first week without official branding, but the bank is very efficient in what they do and by the end of the first week, we already sign the agreement and therefore now the name change to National Bank of Belize Interdistrict Championship.”
Alvaro Alamina, General Manager, National Bank of Belize
“The bank as we know is a national bank owned by all Belizeans and so we are extremely pleased to be involved in a tournament that would bring in kids from all over this country – from PG to Corozal, from Ambergris Caye to Caye Caulker to Benque – and that is very pleasing to us here at national bank. We know that this tournament will allow better conditioning and better tournament participation for the kids in that it is a new tournament that will fill a gap that was not there before. And that will allow the F.F.B. and the football fraternity in Belize in my mind allow the federations to identify key players from a young age to allow us to develop them for the big leagues and international play.”
Opportunities are available for other competitions being branded.
