Rear Admiral, Elton Bennett, Commandant, Belize Coast Guard
“That’s continuous. We have to continue to patrol these areas to ensure that there’s nothing illegal happening because an illegal squatting could very well be contributing to illegal drug trafficking, because they’re all connected in illegal activities. There is an area in the south that we are particularly interested in, in the Moho and the Temash area south of Punta Gorda, where we’re currently in the act of verifying the ownership of those lands, and that’s a process because it involves other agencies.”
