Belgium scout leader stops in Belize on bike tour
A scout leader from Belgium is riding all around the world as part of his life’s dream. Xavier Debois arrived in Belize yesterday and this afternoon News Five caught up with him to find out about his world tour.
Xavier Debois, Scout Leader
“The main purpose of being in Belize is only to learn about English and Spanish parts of the country. I would like to know the people and how people are different.
I feel well because when you pass some countries like Iran and Pakistan it’s usually when you watch television you learn about the countries. But when I pass inland I usually meet very nice and friendly people. These people like to get information from another country. It’s a very good thing for me. I like to learn some different religion.”
Q: “Do you like Belize so far?”
Xavier Debois
“I like Belize because it has very mix cultures.”
The thirty-two year old scout has biked to Iran, various parts of Europe, Thailand, Singapore and India. Before coming to Belize Debois was in Guatemala. His next stop is Chetumal.
