The Prime Minister of Taiwan to visit
The Prime Minister of Taiwan will visit Belize next week as part of a three nation tour. Prime Minister Vincent C. Siew will head a delegation of officials, journalists and entrepreneurs who will arrive on the fifteenth. First Secretary of the Taiwanese Embassy Benjamin Ho tells News Five the one day visit which is reciprocal to Prime Minister Said Musa’s visit to Taiwan in October is intended to strengthen ties between the two countries and follow-up for issues discussed such as the housing and Southern Highway projects. As well as Taiwan’s Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Economic Affairs and the Chairman of the Council of Agricultural Affairs, the Taiwanese Embassy says a number of potential investors looking for joint venture opportunities will be part of the delegation. The Prime Minister, who heads the Taiwanese Cabinet, is second in power only to the President who is elected. Prime Minister Siew is also visiting Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
