Story Picture
Tonight at midnight we will toast the passing of 1998 and the arrival of 1999. For some ’98 was a great year, for others it was one they hope will never come back. News Five asked some people today about what they will remember and what they would like to come their way in ’99.

First Person

“For 1998 the best thing that happened to me was this course that I took. It really helped me with my relationship, work and stress. But this course really help me.”

Second Person

“I think the worst thing was the scare of Hurricane Mitch. I had to travel with my grandson and grandmother away to Central Farm. The car broke down and all the fright we were in no one would stop to help us. Eventually we made it to Central Farm.”

Third Person

“The best thing, that I had health and strength for most of the year. The worst thing, my family did not have enough jobs. We need more, more jobs.”

Forth Person

“The best thing that happened to me was that I got a new girlfriend for 1998. I met new friends. Thank God for the whole year.”

Fifth Person

“The best thing was living with my family. Having life and having the courage to do the correct things and not go astray.”

Sixth Person

“The best thing that happened to me for 1998 is this little lady right here. This lady was a widow and I am a widower and I met this lovely lady and we have a home and we are going to spend the rest of our lives together.”

Seventh Person

“I thank God everyday that I am a safe Christian. My desire for Belize City is that everyone will repent and come to the Lord, because God is good all the time. Amen.”
