Music group releases CD with environmental theme

A new group of artists are in town… Jade. The six members of the band all hailing from San Ignacio and Benque Viejo have just brought out their first compact disc entitled, “La Tierra Llora” or in English, “The earth cries.” Iliana Moreno told us more about how the group got together and the meaning behind their songs.

“We came together because we met Howell Silva. He showed us all his songs and had his guitar and we said we should try to record these songs. So we all decided and recorded them.

It talks about the environment. It talks about how people are destroying it. We are trying to make people more conscious about our surroundings especially here in Belize.”

Moreno says the compact disc has a combination of music like meringue, cumbia, pop and reggae. “La Tierra Llora” CDs are available at Diamond Studio’s and Venus Store.
