Former Special Constable Andre Gordon is Guilty of Rape
There was another rape conviction handed down in the Supreme Court this afternoon, also in the courtroom of Justice Ricardo O’Neil Sandcroft. Thirty-seven-year-old Andre Gordon was found guilty after careful consideration of the facts in the case brought against him. Gordon, a former special constable and hotel security guard, was accused of sexually assaulting a woman on February twenty-fourth, 2017. In court, he gave a sworn testimony that it was consensual sex, however, his accuser said that she fought him and tried to push him off when she woke up and found that he was on top of her. Sentencing for Andre Gordon has been deferred to September thirtieth, until then he remains locked up at the Belize Central Prison. He was represented in court by attorney Leeroy Banner. The crown was represented by prosecutors Riis Cattouse and Robert Lord.
