Three Men Shot; One Critical
Three men were shot as they socialized with others in a yard in the Lake Independence area on Sunday night. While two of them are in stable condition, one is in a critical state and police do not know who their shooter is. Today, the Police Department’s Communications Director, Assistant Superintendent Fitzroy Yearwood told the media that police were patrol in the area and saw the escape vehicle fleeing the scene. He said the victims were part of a football tournament that placed second earlier in the day at the M.C.C. Grounds and that they were celebrating that when they came under attack. He added that police are following up on several leads.

“Sometime around ten-seventeen p.m., last night, police officers that were on patrol on the LaCroix Boulevard area made checks at the corner of LaCroix Boulevard and McKenzie Street, where a group of men were in a yard socializing and officers also made checks at the K.H.M.H. Accident and Emergency where they saw Tevin Cacho (excuse me), Jim Myers, and Jerwin Carcamo suffering from gunshot injuries to the body. I know that Myers and Carcamo are listed in a stable condition, but Tevin Cacho was listed in a critical condition. Initial investigations revealed that these men were socializing after a football event at that location when two men on a motorbike approached them and it is alleged that a man seated on the back of the motorbike – the passenger – opened fire in their direction, causing several injuries to these three men.”
