Second Shooting Victim One Block from Darien Banks Murder, One Hour Later
One hour after Darien Banks was gunned down, there was a second shooting incident only a block away from the murder scene. According to Police, forty-three year old Kenrick Walton was socializing with two male persons in a yard on Vernon Street when a gunman approached him and fired shots in his direction. Walton was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital with a gunshot injury to the head. One relative we spoke with off camera told us that Walton’s shooter was drinking and talking with the group prior to the incident. The relative contended that while Walton is from the area, he has no gang affiliations.
