Paul Jex Jr. is Sentenced to Life in Prison
Life imprisonment was the sentence handed down late this evening against twenty-seven-year-old Paul Jex Junior, a father of two, who was convicted of raping a twenty-one-year-old woman last week in December 2015. Relatives of Jex Junior reacted to the sentence of life imprisonment when it was announced in the court room of Justice Sandcroft late this evening. It is a sentence that Justice Sandcroft said, quote; I do not feel unjustified with my sentence, unquote, seconds before he made the announcement in open court. The sentence was handed down after Judge Sandcroft had listen to sentencing guidelines made by the crown counsel, Riis Cattouse from the D.P.P.’s office. Cattouse submitted several sentencing guidelines which showed a pattern ranging from usually eight to fifteen years imprisonment, but Cattouse as the crown, advocated for a stringent sentencing of life imprisonment, the max that can be given by law.
