Appointment of New Chairperson of NCFC

The Ministry of Human Development, Families and Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs has announced the appointment of a new Chairperson of the National Commission for Families and Children. That individual is Maria Elena Contreras. A release from the ministry says “Contreras brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge in public service to Belize. She served as a manager at the Social Security Board for many years and comes with the maturity and skills in management necessary to guide the commission forward. Her commitment to the families and children of Belize is unwavering, and her energy to coordinate and lead the N.C.F.C. is solid as proven by her record.”
