Digi Belize Awards 25 High School Scholarships

Twenty-five students heading into secondary school were awarded scholarships by Digi Belize. These scholarship recipients were selected from across the country based on their academic achievements and financial need. The Digi scholarship will provide each child with the finance needed throughout the duration of their high school experience. They gathered in Belize City today to receive their scholarship awards. Here is a look at how that event went.

“Today we come together to celebrate our 2022 scholars, twenty-five brilliant and deserving students from across Belize who are making their transition into secondary school with hopeful hearts of achieving their dreams and lifelong aspirations. Our secondary scholarships are awarded to those students who have shown exceptional commitment to their studies through academic excellence, and who at the same time, demonstrate financial needs. This year, the company received up to two hundred applications nationwide. Of these, fifty applicants were interviewed. These interviews were carried out by our dedicated Digi Scholarship Committee, comprised of Digi staff with diverse academic backgrounds from across different functional areas of the company. To accommodate those applicants from out district, we made special arrangements to allow for virtual sessions to ensure there were no missed opportunities. We at Digi recognize the efforts that these twenty five young applicants make every day, sometimes in difficult circumstances, but they have done this to, further their studies, achieve outstanding performance, and to respond to the endeavors of their families who work tireless to guarantee them a good education and better opportunities.”
