Fire destroys home near Lucky Strike

A fire yesterday has left a woman without her home this Christmas. On Wednesday sixty-two year old Jane Thomas told police that while she was in her yard at mile twenty nine on the old Northern Highway there was an explosion in the upstairs of the building which caused fire to spread to other parts of the house. The building near Lucky Strike, which also housed a business, Rachel’s Used Clothing, in the lower flat, was completely destroyed. Its owner Barbara Fernandez says that the wooden structure, which measured 30 by 25 feet, was not insured. Police continue their investigation into the cause of the fire.
