Melissa Forman

The Belize Electricity Limited has introduced a mobile application called B.E.L. 24/7 which is being made available to its customers to access essential services online.  Forget the long lines at its offices, or being placed on hold while on the telephone, B.E.L. 24/7 allows users to access their accounts on digital devices to monitor power consumption, among other services.  Melissa Forman is B.E.L.’s Supervisor of Customer Relations.

Melissa Forman, Supervisor, Belize Electricity Limited

“The B.E.L. 24/7 app was developed back in 2020 by our very own B.E.L. team.  Working with different departments, we recognized an opportunity where it is that customers would be able to get all the information that they required as they would normally do, let‘s say they make a telephone call or in some instances, previously when they used to visit the office.  As such, the information is that we ensure that it is on the app was very user-friendly and we wanted to provide customers with options to get involved or have an opportunity to access all services for different requests that it is that the company offers.  It allows us to download the bills, having customers to be able to view and manage their accounts, whether it be their personal accounts or business, allowing customers up to eighty accounts to be added to their accounts, giving the customers the opportunity to submit requests, various requests whether it be new service, move-in requests, closing an account.  Also the ability to review and manage their consumptions, having been able to calculate their bills at any given time and we‘ll be able to go through that a bit further.  As well, we were able to ensure that it is that customers have the opportunity.  We do understand that there are challenging times and as such we made it available for customers to request a payment arrangement or payment extension through our mobile app.”
