San Pedro police to get special constables
San Pedro police will be getting some assistance in their crime fighting efforts if an initiative to re-establish special constables is successful. Today Minister of National Security Jorge Espat, Permanent Secretary Allan Usher and Commissioner of Police Ornel Brooks were in San Pedro for a meeting with area representative Patty Arceo in an effort to recruit volunteers. The special constables will have full powers of police officers and work in support of the police. San Pedro’s police department under the command of Assistant Superintendent Rudolph Orio consists of fifteen officers.
