Pepsi truck robbed in Orange Walk

It was not a good day for soft drink truck drivers yesterday. In Belize City a coke truck was held up on New Road during the lunch hour and the driver slashed in the arm with a machete. About eight hundred dollars was taken in the incident and police say they are looking for Edmond Gladden otherwise known as “Shabba” and Javier Jones. About an hour later in Orange Walk a Pepsi truck was robbed by a masked man with a gun near San Estevan Village. Pebco Belize tells News Five that about seven hundred dollars was taken from their driver Jose Luis Guerra and his sideman Santos Urbina. Pebco says that fortunately there was a police checkpoint not too far from the scene of the crime and that the police responded quickly and chased a suspect into the bushes and captured him. The driver and sideman have yet to make a positive identification.
