Plus TV’s Louis Wade Jr Apologizes
Pastor Louis Wade Junior, host of Plus TV’s Rise and Shine Morning Show, has offered an apology to the Women Parliamentarian Caucus, which demanded an apology from him for using an obscene word on one of his morning shows that connotes weakness of the female gender. Wade had made a statement to the effect that the building of a nation is not for the weak but for giants. He went on to use objectionable language to describe who he classified as weak. The comment prompted Speaker of the House, Valerie Woods, acting as Interim Chair of the Women Parliamentarian Caucus, to write to the Chairperson of the Belize Broadcasting Authority, Evan Tench. The letter drew the B.B.A.’s attention to what it considered was a clear violation of women. But while Wade had indicated that he had already apologized, the caucus felt that what he had initially offered was not an apology but justification for the use of the word. Now on his Rise and Shine Morning Show of August eleventh, Wade offered a proper apology.
