Diplomat attacked at Taiwanese Embassy
This week two Chinese merchants were assaulted by thieves at their shops, but today there was the most brazen and surprising attack of all. This time the incident was not a Chinese business, but the Taiwanese Embassy on Hutson and Eyre Street. A spokesperson for the embassy told News Five that around one p.m. a well dressed, clean cut young Creole man entered the office and demanded money from Chancellor of Office May Yeh. She reportedly handed over sixteen hundred dollars, but instead of leaving the thief attacked her, not with a gun, but an ordinary fork. She was beaten so badly she had to be admitted to the hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
