Two Fatal RTA’s Reported in the South Over the Weekend

There were two fatal road traffic accidents over the weekend, one was a hit and run incident during which an individual was knocked down and killed along the Southern Highway.  Despite being transported to Independence Village, the succumbed to his injuries.

“The vehicle did not stop. The person was taken to the Independence Polyclinic where he was pronounced dead on arrival.  We have still not ascertained who the driver of the vehicle is at this time, it‘s an ongoing investigation. And again, this morning I think there was another R.T.A. at the six miles junction in Dangriga.  Sometime after six a.m., a vehicle ran into the rail, I believe, of the highway, I believe, and overturned and the driver of the vehicle died on impact.  So that‘s another accident that we are investigating at this time.”
