Christmas stamps are here

Christmas lights on Albert Street, Salvation Army Kettles, concerts in the streets and Christmas stamps for cards going abroad are all signals that the holiday season has arrived. Today the Post Office presented its stamps for this year. News Five spoke with Public Relations Officer Verlene Arzu about the new images and how soon people should mail their gifts to friends and family abroad to make sure it reaches by December twenty-fifth.
Verlene Arzu, P.R. Officer, Belize Post Office
“The Post Office is pleased to announce the release of the Christmas 1998 stamps and the stamps are featuring the orchids. We have stamps from twenty-five cents to a dollar. We have twenty-five cents; we have sixty cents and seventy-five cents and a dollar.
If you want someone to receive their mail before December twenty-fifth, the latest you can mail the package or parcel from our parcel post is the fourteenth or fifteenth. So you need to get in here at the Post Office at parcel post and send off the package. Cards and letters could be later. The best advice would be to mail it by the eighteenth December.”
Arzu says that the Post Office has introduced a new system called E.M.S. Express Mail. This ensures that once your package has arrived in Belize you will be notified within a day.
