Lance Corporal Roxannie Hill-Goff to Be Laid to Rest By Colleagues on Thursday

Roxannie Hill-Goff

The funeral service for B.D.F. officer Lance Corporal Roxannie Hill-Goff will be held on Thursday in Double Head Cabbage. As we reported, Lance Corporal Hill died in a tragic road traffic accident that took place last Thursday on the George Price Highway. Following the accident, counselors sat down with many of Hill’s fellow female officers at Price Barracks to help them process their grief. Jermaine Burns, the Chief of Staff at the Belize Defense Force, spoke with reporters earlier today.

“Just Monday there was a counselor that came from the AP program within the government, so two groups, to individual groups; you would imagine these are females that were the bulk of those seen in this very building. They were seen for an entire day, counseled and then the B.D.F. wellness team took over that counseling. That is going process. The grieving process has a couple stages that they are going through. But, I am happy to report that the females within the B.D.F. have garnered the strength to bury their own tomorrow in the Double Head Cabbage Area. The B.D.F. is conducting the entire ceremony. The process is normally, we would engage the family and if the family agrees to a complete honorable burial by the B.D.F., then we go ahead and do just that. That is what the family has agreed to, and that is what we will be giving Lance Corporal Roxannie Hill-Goff. So, that is what she gets tomorrow, yeah.”
