Trial for O.W. Cop Busted with 40 Pounds of Weed Belize City
He was busted back in December 2020 in Orange Walk with over forty pounds of weed. But tonight, the trial for Dion Bellini, charged for possession of a control drugs with intent to supply was adjourned to August twenty-third. The trial for the interdicted cop was transferred to Belize City and will be heard before Chief Magistrate Sharon Fraser. The adjournment comes on the heels of Bellini’s attorney, Arthur Saldivar, requesting notes of evidence in the trial, which commenced a week ago. Interdicted Police Constable George Fraser has already testified and Saldivar feels that his evidence is very pertinent in the way forward in representing his client. While she was reluctant to grant the adjournment, Chief Magistrate Fraser felt that in farness of the accused, she granted an adjournment for next week Wednesday. Prosecutor A.S.P. Hector Rodriguez has called two witnesses so far, P.C. Fraser and a civilian witness. Bellini at the time of his arrest was stationed in San Ignacio, Cayo and is a former G.S.U. officer.
