Suspect remanded in burglary of El Paso Fast Food
And while judges were busy this morning with the swearing in of the new judge, this afternoon a Belize City man was remanded to prison after being arraigned on charges of Burglary. Thirty-three year old Richard Codd was charged with the burglary of El Paso Fast Food when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court. The prosecution objected to bail and because Codd owes the court money, that objection was upheld. He was remanded into custody until his next court date on April sixteenth. On January twenty-ninth, sixty-one year old Maria Rodriguez reported to police that her restaurant, located on Freetown Road was burglarized and six hundred dollars were stolen. Codd was fingered as the culprit by the security guard on duty at the nearby Ministry of Works compound and police finally caught up with him on February nineteenth. Court records show that Codd has fourteen previous convictions, two of which are for burglary.
