Crocodile farm and much more to do this weekend
It’s Friday, which means you should have time on your hands to relax. In the city and elsewhere there are fun things that you, the family and friends can thoroughly enjoy, including a visit to a crocodile farm. Saffiyah has details.
Hey I’m Safiyyah and this is What’s Happening Belize?
Valentines Day may be a thing of the past but just in case you’re still in the mood for love there is one more event for you. Flores Villas in Benque is inviting you out to their big post Valentine’s Day bash being held this Saturday night. They will be having lots of giveaways and contests.
On Sunday you and your family can head over to the Japanese culture fair being held on the Stella Maris School Campus. There will be giveaways for children and free Japanese cuisine for the first one hundred and fifty people. There will also be traditional Japanese dancing as well as modeling of clothing. The fair will run from ten a.m. to three in the afternoon.
Also on Sunday in Cayo, if you like planes, you and your family can take a trip up to the Central Farm for the Fly In Fair. There will be planes, helicopters as well as ultra lights on display. You can go and enjoy the flying competitions and take lots of great pictures. There will also be food and drinks on sale. So head over to the Matthew Spain Airstrip in Central Farm and check that one out.
And for next weekend you can look out for a huge Fashion and talent show being held in Belmopan. The event will be held in the Belmopan Civic Center on the twenty-eighth of February starting at seven-thirty p.m. There will be lots of performances and modeling. So look out for that one next weekend.
Okay guys, now it’s time to show you a cool place where you and your family can hang out. It’s a new place called Crocland Adventure and Eco Park located twenty-five and a half miles on the Northern Highway in Biscayne Village.

“Hey guys, I’m here at Crocland Adventure and Eco Park to show you a cool place that you and your family can hang out this weekend or any weekend that you feel like taking a trip. So come and take a walk with me.”
Crocland Employee
“This pond houses a male and a female croc and they lay eggs and we’re hatching them. Under normal circumstances, they would normally take four to eight months to hatch.”
Safiyyah Mohammed
“Baby crocs, do they need to be near the adult crocs?”
Crocland Employee
“No, they lay their eggs and they would put their eggs and then this would keep the eggs at the temperature it needs to incubate.”
Safiyyah Mohammed
“The big ones will bite you and pull you under water?”
Crocland Employee
“A croc would drown you first before he dismember you. They don’t chew, they would grope you and then go into what we call a death row to rip off the flesh that they want to eat and then they just swallow it whole.”
Safiyyah Mohammed
“Wow, someone told me that if a crocodile has you in their grip, that you should poke it in the eye and they’ll let you go. I don’t know if that’s true.”
Crocland Employee
“That’s a good strategy, you should try it one of these days. They are separated based on the age. These ones are younger than these ones, as you can see. I think these are two years old and those are three year olds. A croc lives a long time so it’s not like fast growth. These crocs are really healthy; we feed them. Normally in the wild they would have to compete for food. We’re not even sure if they would make it in the wild because they’re not used to hunting and they haven’t been trained.”
Safiyyah Mohammed
“Wow, this is amazing. It’s amazing to be so close to them cause it’s safe so it’s nice to be able to come this close and look at them. They’re so cute.”
Crocland Employee
“This is what people hunt around here to eat. They hunt it extensively around these parts. Traditionally, you see the roadside restaurants “gibnut today” and so. This one houses the bigger croc than you’ve seen so far and it’s all dedicated to him so far; like a foot or two bigger than the ones you’ve seen. You can fish in that; you can throw a line and catch a fish right now like this big. You did it, it’s an adventure and you can feel proud that hey I overcame my fear.”

“After the amazing tour of all the animals, it was time to taste one of their refreshing smoothies by the pool. Then it was off to the stables to see the horses. The horses were nice but I felt the need for speed. That’s it for me at Crocland Adventure and Eco Park. I had a blast today, I saw all the animals and of course the crocodiles; the big crocodiles and little crocodiles. And of course, the horse that was so beautiful and we rode the super fast ATV. So I had a great time and, as all of you guys can see at home, this is a great place to spend your weekend, just you and your friends or you and your family. So come on and check this Crocland Adventure Eco Park out alright guys. Bye!”
So you and your family or just a bunch of friends can head up to twenty-five and a half miles up the Northern Highway in Biscayne Village and enjoy Crocland Adventure Eco Park this weekend or any weekend you feel like taking a trip. There’s definitely a little something for everyone.
Well that’s all for now, have an amazing weekend! Bye!
