New members of Women’s Commission inducted
The National Women’s Commission held a consultation this morning and will be inducting new members tonight. The meeting, hosted by Minister of Human Development, Women and Youth Dolores Balderamos Garcia, focused on strategies for the involvement of women in all sectors of national life. It was attended by nineteen men and women from the National Women’s Commission, Ministry of Human Development and prominent women in the community. An informal discussion was lead by Dr. Peggy Antropbus, a Caribbean specialist in Women and Development. She will also be the featured speaker at tonight’s induction ceremony at the Radisson Fort George. The President of the Senate and Commissioner of the Supreme Court Elizabeth Zabaneh will preside over the oath of office which will be given to the new members of the commission. The N.W.C. is an advisory board to the minister responsible for women.
