Young fruit vendor robbed at gunpoint
Earlier we reported that thieves targeted a high school in Punta Gorda, but in Belize a young food vendor got a rude awakening when two youths jacked him at gunpoint rather than patronizing his business. Nineteen year old Gustavo Ereas, a resident of West Canal, told police that he was selling fruits on Neal’s Pen Road Extension around noon on Tuesday when the two attackers cornered him. One of them pulled out a handgun and pointed it at him while the other searched him and took away one hundred and thirty dollars in cash. Police have not made any arrests.
