Lady Mitch looking for a home
While humans were busy moving to higher ground during the Mitch threat, one dog was refusing to budge. She waited patiently at the Boom cutoff standing guard over a bag of baby clothes that may have been dropped by her owners. After the storm, when it was noticed that she was still there waiting for their return, the dog was taken to the Animal Medical Center in Belize City. Now the center is asking that someone out there open their heart and doors to let, Lady Mitch, as they dubbed her, in.
Miriam DeShield, Owner, Animal Medical Center
“She is a very energetic dog. Because she has limited space and no yard she’s a bit energetic and needs a home. She eats well, she eats anything that you give to her. We’d like to find a good home for her so she can be adopted. With Lady Mitch here it made it obvious how much a shelter is needed. A shelter would help a lot to alleviate the problems in Belize City.”
Lady Mitch is indeed filled with energy and is also obedient. She has gotten all her regular shots. Anyone wishing to adopt her can visit the Animal Medical Center or call 33781. The Humane Society is raising money for an animal shelter where people can find lost dogs or adopt strays, and this Saturday they will be giving animals free rabies shots at the Constitution Park. On Sunday there will be a dog show at the B.T.L. Park.
