Two killed in weekend road accidents
A woman from Sittee River was killed and three others injured when a Jeep Cherokee crashed on the Stann Creek Valley Road this weekend. Police say they were called to the scene between miles two and three around four a.m. Saturday and found the vehicle on the side of the road extensively damaged. Twenty-two year old Pauline McDougal was trapped in the front passenger seat and appeared to be dead. The driver, Delia Andrews was pinned behind the wheel suffering from head and body injuries. Two passengers in the rear, David and Patricia Andrews, were also hurt. All four were rushed to the Dangriga Hospital where Pauline McDougal was pronounced dead on arrival. Her companions were transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial for further attention. Police are investigating.
On Sunday night police visited the San Ignacio Hospital where they saw the body of thirty-four year old Ernesto Sedacey with head and body injuries. Investigations revealed that about six twenty p.m., Sedacey was strolling on the Western Highway in Esperanza Village, but was knocked down by a white pickup truck travelling towards Belmopan, which did not stop. Sedacey’s body was transferred to the Belmopan Hospital morgue where it awaits a postmortem examination.
