Three charged for robbery of Brads
Three persons, one of them a seventeen year old boy, were charged in connection with the robbery of Brads Store on West Collet Canal, when they appeared today in Magistrates’ Court. The minor and twenty-two year old Robert Tracey were charged with robbery, while thirty-three year old Stephanie Copious, the minor’s sister, was charged with handling stolen goods. Tracy and the minor pleaded not guilty to robbery. They were remanded into custody until March eighteenth. Copious, an employee of Salty Dog Restaurant, pleaded not guilty to Handling Stolen Goods. She was released on a bail of three thousand dollars and her case was adjourned until March eighteenth. The robbery occurred around seven-thirty p.m. on Tuesday, February seventeenth. Sixty-six year old Jip Lun Chee, the manager of Brads, reported to the police that two gunmen entered the store and pointed a point thirty eight revolver at him and his female shop assistant. They stole six hundred and twenty five dollars and twenty five cents and some smart telephone cards. The minor and Tracey were detained by police shortly afterwards. Copious said she was at work when she heard a commotion on Euphrates Avenue and she went outside. She said she saw her brother in a police vehicle and he handed her something and told her to give their mother. She had in her possession six hundred and five dollars, believed to be part of the six hundred twenty five dollars and twenty-five cents that was stolen from Brads.
