Book of Condolence Open for Messages at House of Culture
The House of Culture, formerly the Government House, is draped on the outside with Belize’s patriotic red, white and blue colors, but at closer inspection, at its flagstaff, one would observe that it represents a country in mourning with the Belizean flag hoisted at half-mast. And the colors black and white adorn the interior where large copies of pictures from Her Majesty’s two visits to Belize fill the room. The Book of Condolence lays open on a table, where Belizeans who have positive messages to send to the family of the late Queen Elizabeth the Second can pen those comments. The book was opened today and will remain there until the day of the queen’s funeral on September nineteenth. Thereafter, it will be sent to Buckingham Palace, the place of official business for the Monarch.
