Man detained for stealing over $20,000 from Dr.’s account

Story PictureIn the north, Orange Walk police have detained a man pending an investigation of Theft… the amount is a whopping twenty-three thousand dollars. Details are sketchy, but reports are that between July and August 2008 Dr. Marco Deville went to the United States and left a man to take care of his home in the Nuevo Palmar area. Last Friday, Deville, who had by this time returned to the country, realized that his Belize Bank debit card had been stolen from his personal belongings inside his room and hurriedly made checks at the bank. That was when the doctor discovered that twenty-three thousand dollars had been withdrawn from his account. These pictures are of the man police believe extracted the money from Deville’s account. The withdrawals began in December and continued into February, practically right up until the discovery was made. Anyone with any information on the crime is asked to call the nearest police station.
